Ekiti is not only blessed with a compassionate Governor who consistently looks after the welfare of his citizens but is also endowed with a proactive and caring First Lady with a human touch.
The First Lady, Her Excellency, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji and the founder of Widows, aged and Orphans Hope support foundation ( WAOH), aims is to contribute to the overall growth of widows and orphans and enhancing socio-economic conditions in their communities, Continuing her dedication to supporting the less privileged, the First Lady sent the officials of the Project WAOH to deliver food packs and financial aid to an aged widow, Madame Alake Adebimpe Abimbola, in Otun Ekiti, Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Mama Ayodele, about 90 years old and having lost her two children, is among the beneficiaries captured for assistance under the Project WAOH. Unfortunately, she couldn't attend the ceremony, making the outreach all the more significant.
The visit allowed the team, led by the Project Officer, Mrs. Oluwakemi Dada Dairo, to check on other Project WAOH beneficiaries and see how they've utilized the empowerment materials. It's heart warming to witness these beneficiaries not only doing well but also contributing to the local economy with their new found resources.
The team didn't limit their generosity to WAOH beneficiaries; they also presented cash gifts to other aged widows during the visit. The overwhelming joy expressed by the beneficiaries is a testament to the positive impact of Project WAOH.
This is just the beginning, as the commitment to supporting widows, aged and orphans ,as well as the vulnerable in Ekiti and beyond remains steadfast.
